Which Free Personal Firewall
There are quite a few free personal firewalls on the market; many have similar features and functions which makes the choice even harder.
Whilst the personal firewall you choose is greatly down to ease of use and appearance you must also think about the technology behind the product and value added firewalling features provided.

My personal favourite is the Sygate personal firewall, Sygate were acquired by Symantec in October 2005 but the personal firewall is currently still a free download.
The Sygate personal firewall has a well structured graphical interface with the initial screen showing incoming and outgoing traffic statistics green or red determines permitted & denied traffic. The running applications section to the bottom of the screen can be toggled to connections which shows port numbers and protocols for the more experienced techy.
